GlobalArctic Founders

The Global Arctic project is a global and trans-disciplinary research and education effort, drawing on experts affiliated with Arctic and non-Arctic Universities. It originally built on the Northern Research Forum (NRF) and its biennial Open Assemblies, as well as on the University of the Arctic’s and the NRF’s joint Thematic Network on Geopolitics and Security. The Global Arctic project was officially launched at the 2nd Arctic Circle on October 31st 2014 in Reykjavik, Iceland by Prof. Matthias Finger, EPFL, Switzerland and Prof. Lassi Heininen, University of Lapland, Finland.
