Matthias Finger is the Director of the GlobalArctic project and a part-time employee at TENMAK, Türkiye’s Energy, Nuclear and Minerals Research Organization in Ankara. He holds a Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Geneva, has been an Assistant Professor at Syracuse University (New York), an Associate Professor at Columbia University (New York), a Professor of Management of Public Enterprises at the Swiss Federal Institute of Public Administration, and between 2002 and 2020 the Swiss Post Chair in Management of Network Industries at EPFL. He is today also a Professor Emeritus at Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale Lausanne (EPFL), Switzerland.

Gunnar Rekvig is a Project Manager at the Centre for the Ocean and the Arctic at UiT, the Arctic University of Norway, a Non-Resident Fellow at the Planning and Coordination Department of the Sasakawa Peace Foundation, and a Deputy Director of the GlobalArctic project. He was the 2019 Nansen Professor at the University of Akureyri, Iceland. Gunnar has a PhD in International and Regional Studies from Tokyo University of Foreign Studies. His research focuses on Nordic Peace and international relations in the Arctic, emphasizing circumpolar geopolitics through historical and contemporary lenses of peace and trust-building mechanisms, maritime governance, and comparative perspectives on peace and trust-building across the Arctic and East Asia.

Lassi Heininen is a Professor Emeritus of Arctic Politics at University of Lapland, Finland, and the editor of the Arctic Yearbook, the Co-founder and Director of the Calotte Academy (a traveling symposium), and the Leader of University of the Arctic’s (UArctic) Thematic Network on Geopolitics and Security. His research areas include IR, Geopolitics, Security Studies, Environmental Politics, Northern European Studies, and Arctic Studies. He lectures at, and supervises PhD candidates from Finnish and foreign universities, speaks regularly in international conferences, and chairs the GlobalArctic Mission Council of the Arctic Circle Assembly.

Webmaster and Developer

Ozan Barış Süt is a webmaster and designer with extensive experience in web development, digital design, and institutional online communication. He has worked on a range of international academic and professional projects, including Network Industries, EPFL, IC4R, and the IGLUS project, where he contributed for seven years in the field of web development and digital implementation. He continues to work actively on several ongoing projects, providing support in website management, design, and digital communication.

In addition to his work on academic and institutional platforms, he has also developed corporate digital projects in Türkiye, including multi-location website structures and interactive map systems. His work combines practical technical expertise with a strong sense of visual presentation, usability, and institutional identity.

He graduated from Hacettepe University, Ankara, holding bachelor’s degrees in English Language and Literature and in Teaching.
