Ahmed Fayiz is a PhD student in International Relations at Middle East Technical University (METU), Ankara, working on the GlobalArctic Project at TENMAK. His research centres on Arctic geopolitics, energy security and critical minerals.

His doctoral research asks how Türkiye, as a non-Arctic middle power, can establish long-lasting partnerships with Arctic states in energy, critical minerals and transit routes.
